Sometimes the world around us looks too mucky, things seem too separated, and it appears like the people, places, events, and activities going on around us just aren’t connected enough. The disengagement we see outside of us is a reflection of what is going on inside of us.
If you are wrestling with community engagement, struggling to promote worker engagement, planning for youth engagement, or pushing student engagement, I want to encourage you to stop for a moment and take a deep breath. Relax if you can. Rest your hands from the keyboard, look out the nearest window and take a breath, as deeply as you can.
Right now, out there in the world, there are many things that have never felt angst. These are people, animals, insects, and even the Earth itself, all of them just like us and under the same apparent duress as we are. The difference is that they experience Heartspace right now. So can you.
