Romancing the Evening

She in négligée, me in longing

if my goal is proximity, I be but a fool
This is no game for fools
Instead, serenity sweeps
compelling me to linger, watch
“Like a two-year-old, just wanting more”
Her shapeliness draws my eyes nearer
lest I seem desperate, I look away
Quickly I look back; she’s still there
No trollop, she is only for me tonight
staring toward the sun that’s set
standing in position, waiting
I am your lover- no vagabond
I have been yours since the first day we meant
Let’s make love tonight
This is what its like to love
the moon
