Dying Stories

“Don’t be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” ― Rumi

Living the life
of another
That other
was me
A child’s glory
swaddled in sob stories
Not to mock, but release
I release
I die, and I die again
like we’re supposed to every night
and be born again every day
Anew
A new person
A new life

Rumi:
Now I’m not satisfied with my own stories
how things went for me
who lived yesterday
So instead I’ll live today
and unfold my own myth.
