petals

petals set in my pocket
remind me
this place isn’t just dank
musty
moss-covered
instead, there’s a lot of growth
incredible

resting on drenched
forest floors
mold
takes over the
fine corpses of pretty
petals
making way for more

more and more
abundance
reigns supreme in the language of trees
unfamiliar
I stand to learn
sit to rest
my bum gets damp
as growth continues
