Doddering Young Man

Doddering, puttering
My days of being called a young man
Are coming to an end
Not yet relegated to a home
The years tick by

I deserved
The greatest awards
The warmest family
The strongest memories
The twinkling twilight years

Instead I’m looking for
A scooter, a dietician and an advocate
Who can make those younger people listen to me
Listen to me!
I’m not even old yet,
And still you turn away.
