Meteora, a series of monasteries on pinnacles in Greece.

I believe myself a poet
An artist among the mundane
Grasping a hold
Releasing all this workaday

Incapable of nothing
I’m in meditation
at a coffee shop
in raking, dishwashing
poetry, always in poetry

My words, a prayer
Readers’ minds?
So I read my poetry
and again

Sisters and brothers of the life!
We, the monks of the pen
sisters of word processor
Drawn asunder by the commoners
Wrought from hellish experiences
Making poems

Struggle and surrender
uplift and embrace
Life is our notepad
Love guides
Confusion rests

This is a poem
I am a poet
And I am not the monster
but the flower
gently, and real
