Spaces for Youth Voice

Youth voice is any expression of any young person, anywhere at anytime for any reason.

It doesn’t need adult approval, community belonging or social capital to happen.

It is already a powerful force for positive social change, but when those happen it can become even more impacting and uplifting.

Where does youth voice happen that way? It can happen throughout the lives of youth in many ways.

Some of the places young people can engage in include…

  • Home and family
  • School
  • Internet
  • Government
  • Media
  • Foundations
  • Politics
  • Public health and Healthcare
  • Neighborhoods
  • Arts
  • Stores and shopping
  • Design
  • Cultural settings
  • Farms
  • Work and employment
  • Volunteering and service

There are also lots of other spaces! Will you share some of your favorite places for youth voice in the comments section?
